ACCESSIBILITY STATEMENT

In accordance with Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2018/1523 of 11 October 2018 establishing a model accessibility statement pursuant to Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and of the Council on the accessibility of the websites and mobile applications of public sector bodies.

The Salzburg State Theatre is committed to making its website accessible in accordance with the Web Accessibility Act (WZG) as amended, implementing Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 26 October 2016 on the accessibility of the websites and mobile applications of public sector bodies (OJ L 327, 2.12.2016, p. 1).

This accessibility statement applies to the website www.salzburger-landestheater.at.

COMPLIANCE STATUS

This website is partially compliant with Level AA of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines – WCAG 2.1 and with the applicable European Standard EN 301 549 V2.1.2 (2018-08), due to the non-compliances and exemptions listed below.

NON-ACCESSIBLE CONTENT

The content listed below is not accessible for the following reasons:

Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations

  • For some images, background images, and icons, alternative text is missing, making this information inaccessible to screen reader users. This does not meet WCAG Success Criterion 1.1.1 (Text Alternatives for Non-Text Content). We are working to gradually provide alternative texts for all images.
  • Some of our videos do not have subtitles and none have full transcripts, meaning spoken content is not available to deaf users. This does not meet WCAG Success Criteria 1.2.1 and 1.2.3 (Transcripts) as well as 1.2.2 (Captions for prerecorded content).
  •  Our cookie consent and slider currently do not have an appropriate ARIA landmark (WCAG Success Criterion 1.3.1). This will be corrected shortly.
  • The structure of our HTML documents is, in some cases, incorrect (WCAG Success Criterion 1.3.1), as certain headings are missing (e.g., an H2 missing between H1 and H3) and there are invalid nestings. We are working to correct this.
  • The structure of our forms is, in some cases, incorrect (WCAG Success Criteria 1.3.5, 2.5.3, 3.3.2). We are working to correct these issues.
  • The tab order (navigating between controls using the Tab key) is, in some areas, in need of improvement (WCAG Success Criterion 2.4.3). We are reviewing possibilities and working on a fix.
  • Some links do not have a descriptive title attribute: sponsor logos, arrows in the monthly schedule, ticket purchase links, and links to open a YouTube video (WCAG Success Criterion 2.4.4 Link Purpose in Context). A fix is in progress.
  • Texts in the slider have, in the mobile navigation, insufficient contrast in some cases (WCAG Success Criterion 1.4.3 Contrast (Minimum)). A high-contrast stylesheet solution is being evaluated.
  • Two tables currently lack adequate markup (schedule calendar and contact table) – (WCAG Success Criterion 1.3.1 Info and Relationships). A fix will be implemented in the near future.
