Alexander Hüttner was born in the Max Reger city of Weiden in der Oberpfalz and began his studies at the University Mozarteum Salzburg in 2007, initially with Aud Kjellaug Tesaker, followed by Gudrun Volkert and, finally, Andreas Macco and Therese Lindquist. He completed his studies with distinction in 2015.

Since the 2016/2017 season, Alexander Hüttner has been a member of the ensemble at Salzburger Landestheater, where his roles have included Frantz in “The Tales of Hoffmann", Don Curzio in “Le nozze di Figaro”, Josef in “Wiener Blut”, and most recently, in the 2022/2023 season, Dr Blind in Johann Strauss’s “Die Fledermaus”.

During the 2018 Salzburg Festival season, he took on the role of the Young Man in Gottfried von Einem’s “Der Prozess” under the direction of HK Gruber. This concert performance was recorded and released by the Capriccio label in summer 2019.

In 2022, he appeared at the Salzburg Easter Festival as the Brabantian Nobleman in Richard Wagner’s "Lohengrin", conducted by Christian Thielemann in the staged production by Jossi Wieler and Sergio Morabito.

As a member of the Salzburg ensemble “BachWerkVokal”, Alexander Hüttner is also deeply committed to Baroque music. The ensemble performs not only the vocal works of Johann Sebastian Bach in Austria and abroad, but also explores the full musical spectrum of the Baroque period. The ensemble’s most recent CD release on the MDG label is “Genug”, featuring works by J. S. Bach, J. Schelle, J. Ahle, A. Mahler-Werfel and J. Gruchmann.

He also regularly performs recitals in Austria and abroad, with repertoire ranging from Franz Schubert to Ernst Krenek. His concert engagements include performances of songs by Max Reger at the “Weiden Max Reger Days”.
