KS Britta Bayer

Drama

Chamber actress Britta Bayer was born in Munich. Even as a child, she stood out for her strong comedic talent and remarkable versatility. After completing secondary school, she initially studied German Studies and Biology at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, but discontinued her studies to begin formal acting training in Munich.

After graduating, she toured with Christian Quadflieg before joining the Tyrolean State Theatre (Tiroler Landestheater) for a three-year permanent engagement. This was followed by an extensive period working across the German-speaking theatre landscape, including summer theatres, touring productions, guest contracts in Bremen and Hanover, as well as work in readings, film, television, and voice acting.

From 2007 to 2012, Britta Bayer appeared at the Salzburg Festival, where she performed the role of the “Schuldknechts Weib” in “Jedermann”, directed by Christian Stückl. In addition, she delivered introductory lectures for the Salzburg Festival over many years.

Britta Bayer has been a member of the Salzburg State Theatre’s acting ensemble since 1994. She has appeared in numerous productions, most recently including “Lehman Brothers”, “Buddenbrooks”, “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?”, “The Wall”, “And Everyone So Still”, “The Visit”, “Triage”, “The Gates of Gaza”, and “Manhattan Project”.

In March 2024, she was awarded the honorary professional title Kammerschauspielerin.
