Daniele Macciantelli is an Italian-Polish bass with international stage experience, renowned for his versatility and expressive stage presence. He studied voice with William Matteuzzi in Bologna after completing his clarinet studies at the Conservatorio G. B. Martini. He made his operatic debut in 2005 as Don Basilio in Rossini’s “Il Barbiere di Siviglia.” Since then, he has performed numerous leading and character roles, including Sparafucile (“Rigoletto”), Ferrando (“Il Trovatore”), Don Magnifico (“La Cenerentola”), Don Profondo (“Il Viaggio a Reims”), Raimondo (“Lucia di Lammermoor”), Leporello (“Don Giovanni”), Colline (“La Bohème”), and Don Bartolo (“Il Barbiere di Siviglia”).

His engagements have taken him to prestigious opera houses and festivals such as the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, the Ravenna Festival, the Savonlinna Opera Festival, the Sferisterio Festival in Macerata, the Teatro G. Rossini in Pesaro, the Teatro Nuovo in Spoleto, the Tokyo Bunka Kaikan, as well as to stages in Cologne, Lucerne, Ulm, Gießen, Innsbruck, Modena, Cesena, and Salzburg. He has also appeared in concert alongside Leo Nucci and Salvatore Licitra at the Teatro Pavarotti.

He has worked with conductors including Riccardo Muti, Daniele Gatti, Alberto Zedda, Felix Bender, Michael Hofstetter, Alessandro De Marchi, Patrick Lange, Ivan Anguelov, Daniele Agiman, Levente Török, Fabrizio Maria Carminati, and Carlo Benedetto Cimento.

In the 2021/22 season, he was engaged as a soloist at Theater Ulm, where he appeared as Bartolo (“Le Nozze di Figaro”), Truffaldin (“Ariadne auf Naxos”), Don Basilio, and Sparafucile. In June 2022, he made his debut at the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino as Truffaldin under the baton of Daniele Gatti, followed by acclaimed performances as Don Magnifico (“La Cenerentola”) and Selim (“Il Turco in Italia”) at the Klassik Festival Kirchstetten. His role debut as Enrico VIII in Donizetti’s “Anna Bolena” in January 2024 at Theater Ulm was celebrated by both press and audience. Shortly thereafter, he appeared at the Salzburger Landestheater as the Generala in Antonio Salieri’s “Il Mondo alla Rovescia” under the musical direction of Carlo Benedetto Cimento. His interpretation was met with great acclaim from both the public and the critics.

Since the 2022/23 season, Daniele Macciantelli has been a permanent ensemble member of the Salzburger Landestheater.
