Wolfgang Götz

Director of Studies and Head of the Salzburg Festival and Theatre Children's Choir

After studying conducting with Ulrich Weder and Sergiu Celibidache in Munich, Wolfgang Götz worked as a conductor, Kapellmeister and head of music staff at institutions such as Theater Basel, Opéra de Lille, Teatro La Fenice, the Salzburg Easter Festival, the Salzburg Festival, the Munich Biennale and the Heidenheim Opera Festival. He has collaborated with artists such as Plácido Domingo, Ruggero Raimondi, Herbert Wernicke and Christoph Marthaler.
In 2008, he served as head of music staff and chorus master for Madame Butterfly in Mumbai.
Wolfgang Götz has led the Salzburg Festival and Theatre Children's Choir since 2008 and has been Director of Studies at the Salzburg Landestheater since 2010. He has served as musical director for numerous productions, including "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat", "Bend It Like Beckham", "Flüchtling", "The Rocky Horror Show", "Cabaret", "Hair", "Xanadu" and "Priscilla – Queen of the Desert".
