Lara Roth
Director
Lara Roth studied Literature and Theatre Studies at Freie Universität Berlin as well as Choreography and Dance Education at Tanzzentrale Leipzig. As a two-time Austrian national champion in figure skating, she brings many years of experience in competitive sports and dance to her work as a director.
Born in Salzburg, she first appeared on stage at the age of nine in the ballet Eine kleine Tanzgeschichte at Salzburger Landestheater and continued to perform regularly in various ballet productions until 2018. During the 2022/2023 season, she began working as an assistant director at the theatre. For the musical “Xanadu”, she created several choreographies, led the roller-skating training and also appeared on stage herself as part of the Fantasy Duo. She made her directing debut in 2025 with the youth production “Malala” at the Oval.
As co-director of “The Neverending Story”, she worked at the Luisenburg Festival in Wunsiedel and at E.T.A. Hoffmann Theater Bamberg. Further engagements have taken her to the Ruhrtriennale in Bochum, the Bad Hersfeld Festival and Landestheater Niederbayern, where she will direct “Astronauten” during the 2026/2027 season.
