Alejandro Parente
Alejandro Parente trained at the Instituto Superior de Arte of the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires and, at the age of sixteen, joined the theatre’s Ballet Estable. Under the guidance of renowned mentors such as Rada Eichenbaum, Wasil Tupin, Enrique Lommi, and Rosmarie Achard, he quickly rose to become one of Argentina’s leading stage dancers. As a Principal Dancer with the Teatro Colón, he performed for nearly three decades in a wide range of leading roles from the classical and neoclassical repertoire, including “Giselle”, “La Bayadère”, “The Nutcracker”, “Sylvia”, “Romeo and Juliet”, “Onegin”, “Raymonda”, “Don Quixote”, “The Sleeping Beauty”, “Notre Dame de Paris”, “Petrushka”, “Carmen”, as well as numerous works by George Balanchine. Guest appearances took him to prestigious theatres across Europe and the Americas.
For his artistic achievements, Parente has received numerous awards, among them the Premio Konex as one of Argentina’s best dancers of the decade, the María Ruanova Award, and the “Figura de la Danza” distinction from Argentina’s cultural press. A career highlight was his performance at the gala reopening of the Teatro Colón in 2010. Following his official stage farewell in 2018 with “The Merry Widow” alongside Marianela Núñez, Parente devoted himself entirely to working as a ballet master, coach, and teacher. His engagements have included the Vienna State Opera, La Scala in Milan, The Royal Ballet in London, Ballet Nacional Sodre in Uruguay, the Vienna Volksoper, the Landestheater Salzburg, and most recently as guest répétiteur with English National Ballet.
With his profound knowledge of classical technique, his extensive stage experience, and his meticulous attention to detail, Alejandro Parente is today regarded as a sought-after mentor for both emerging dancers and established professionals on international stages.
