After completing his ballet training in Russia, Alexandr Korobko continued his studies at the Ballet School of the Vienna State Opera under the direction of Michael Birkmeier and Renato Zanella. During this time, he appeared in productions by the Vienna State Opera Ballet, including “Alles Walzer” (Zanella) and “Giselle”.

Since January 2003, he has been a member of the ballet ensemble of the Salzburg Landestheater. His roles there have included Rodrigo in “Othello”, Modest in “Tchaikovsky” and Alwa in “Lulu”. He received widespread acclaim from both audiences and the press for his portrayal of the Archangel Gabriel in “Angels”.

He was equally successful as the Angel in “Joseph’s Legend” at the Richard Strauss Festival in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. In 2008, he also took on the role of Tchaikovsky to great acclaim during the Salzburg Ballet’s tour of Germany.

He has also appeared as Don José in “Carmen”, as Hercules in “Alcestis” in “Nordlichter”, in “Marilyn” and “Elements”, as Superman in “Heroes”, and recently as one of the stepsisters in “Cinderella”.

At the beginning of the 2012/2013 season, he took on the position of Ballet Master and Head of Ballet Training. Alongside this role, he has created his own choreographies, including for the productions “Bach’n’Drums”, “Blues im Berg” and “Sündenfall”. For the Young Land division, he created “Around the World in 80 Days!”, “Wild im Wald”, “Der Zauberlehrling” and “Die Nashörner”.

He has also created ballet sequences for operas and operettas such as “Eugene Onegin”, “Il Mondo Della Luna” and “Wiener Blut”, as well as for the New Year’s Eve Concert at the Großes Festspielhaus.
