Friederike Bernau

Dramaturg

Friederike Bernau gained her first theatre experience at Wolfgang Anrath’s Theater K in Munich. After studying theatre studies in Munich, she took up her first permanent position as a dramaturg at Theater Regensburg in 1985. From 1986 to 1993, during the tenure of Artistic Director Dr Rolf P. Parchwitz, she worked as a dramaturg and later as Chief Dramaturg at Badische Landesbühne Bruchsal.

She subsequently held positions in Pforzheim under Artistic Director Manfred Berben and in Krefeld/Mönchengladbach under Artistic Director Jens Pesel. During the tenure of Artistic Director Ernö Weil, Friederike Bernau worked as Chief Dramaturg at Theater Regensburg until 2012.

Before her retirement, she served as Chief Dramaturg at Salzburger Landestheater until 2025 and has continued to return to the theatre for selected productions since then.
