Chinese tenor Chong Sun grew up in Beijing. From 2003 to 2008, he studied at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna. In 2005, he won second prize at the International Singing Competition Klassik-Mania in Vienna. His first professional engagement took him to Theater Passau, where he appeared as the Second Jew in “Salome”.
From 2008 to 2012, he was engaged as a soloist at Theater Hof. His extensive repertoire includes roles such as Tamino in Mozart’s “The Magic Flute”, Don Ottavio in “Don Giovanni” and Count Almaviva in Rossini’s “The Barber of Seville”.
Since 2013, he has been a member of the opera chorus of the Salzburg Landestheater.
