orn and raised in Neuwied, Marco Dott completed his acting training in Munich. This was followed by engagements in Bonn, Gelsenkirchen, Wuppertal, Basel, Bremen, Lübeck, Detmold and Kassel. Since 2009, Marco Dott has been a member of the drama ensemble and a director at the Salzburg State Theatre. For four years, he also headed the Young Theatre division (“Junges Land”).

As a director, his productions include “Oleanna”, “Momo”, “The Naked Truth”, “The Chorus” (“Die Kinder des Monsieur Mathieu”), “Zorn”, the Kreisler musical “Tonight: Lola Blau”, Thomas Bernhard’s “The Force of Habit”, the song recital “Hotel Europa”, “Heidi”, and “The Center of the World”. As an opera director, he staged Caldara’s “Dafne”, Rossini’s “Il Turco in Italia”, and Johann Strauss’s famous operetta “Viennese Blood” (“Wiener Blut”).

Marco Dott has also excelled in numerous musical productions, including roles such as Jacob in “La Cage aux Folles”, Sigismund in “The White Horse Inn”, the Historian and Prince Herbert in “Monty Python’s Spamalot”, Elliott in “My Silent Night”, Mrs Higgins in “My Fair Lady”, Smee in “Peter Pan”, and the Emcee in “Cabaret”.

From 2014 to 2017, he captivated audiences with the musical comedy “Spanish for Beginners”. In drama, he delivered outstanding performances as Lionel Logue in “The King’s Speech”, Carl Friedrich Gauss in “Measuring the World”, as well as in “Ladies Night”, “Romeo and Juliet”, “Don Carlos”, “The Iliad”, “Noises Off”, as Abraxas in “The Little Witch”, as Don Pedro in “Much Ado About Nothing”, “An Enemy of the People”, “The New Menoza”, “Fully Veiled”, “The Gruffalo”, and many more.

The cult musical “The Rocky Horror Show”, directed by Marco Dott, ran successfully in the repertoire of the Salzburg State Theatre for seven years. He also appeared on stage himself in the role of Riff Raff.
