Christian Floeren

Stage and costume design

Christian Floeren studied stage and costume design at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg. For 14 years, he was head of the design department at Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe.

Alongside numerous guest engagements in Dortmund, Wiesbaden, Munich and Stuttgart, Christian Floeren was invited to the Salzburg Festival for the first time in 2002 with Christine Mielitz for “Der König Kandaules”. In 2006, he designed the set and costumes for a new production of “Otello” at the Vienna State Opera and at Numori Opera Tokyo. In 2016, he created the set and costume design for “Viktoria und ihr Husar” at the Seefestspiele Mörbisch.

At Salzburger Landestheater, Christian Floeren has designed, among other productions, “Faust I”, “Faust II”, “Tahrir” and “Wiener Blut”.
