Judith Spießer
Opera
The Munich-born lyric coloratura soprano Judith Spießer studied at the University of Music and Theatre Munich. While still a student, she made her debut as the Queen of the Night in Qatar and has since established herself in this role on numerous stages, including Krefeld, Kaiserslautern, Gelsenkirchen, Innsbruck, Regensburg, and Würzburg, at the Thurn und Taxis Festival, the Aalto-Theater Essen, and most recently at the Staatstheater Nürnberg.
She has performed Gilda in „Rigoletto“ at the Pfalztheater Kaiserslautern, Lucia in „Lucia di Lammermoor“ at the Burgfestspiele Passau, and impressed audiences as La Fée in „Cendrillon“ at the National Taichung Theater in Taiwan. She also attracted considerable attention stepping in at short notice as Lakmé at the Opéra de Monte-Carlo.
From 2020 to 2022, she was a member of the ensemble at the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz, where she appeared, among other roles, as Pamina in „Die Zauberflöte“.
In the 2025/2026 season at the Salzburg State Theatre, Judith Spießer will make her debut as the Queen of the Night in „The Little Magic Flute“.
