Julienne Pfeil

Julienne Pfeil grew up in Appenzell, Switzerland. She studied violin and acting in Zurich and began her professional career at the Landestheater Tübingen. She later performed at the Staatstheater Stuttgart, Casinotheater Winterthur, Theater Freiburg, and the Salzburg State Theatre, where she was a permanent ensemble member until 2018.

Her stage roles include Nina in “Strange Interlude” by Eugene O’Neill, Helena in Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”, Käthe in Gerhart Hauptmann’s “Lonely Lives”, Elisabeth in Schiller’s “Don Carlos”, Lady Milford in “Intrigue and Love”, Lena in Büchner’s “Leonce and Lena”, and many more.

In 2011, she received the Armin Ziegler Award for Outstanding Emerging Actors and was nominated as Best Young Actress in Theater heute’s yearbook the same year. She has also appeared in several films, including a leading role as Minna Wagner in “The Zurich Affair”, an internationally cast film about Richard Wagner that was screened at the Berlin International Film Festival and the Zurich Film Festival.

In addition, she has made numerous television appearances, including roles in “Der Bergdoktor”, “Die Bergretter”, “Hubert ohne Staller”, “Lena Lorenz”, “Watzmann ermittelt”, and others.

In the 2025/2026 season, she returns to the Salzburg State Theatre, appearing in “Adam’s Apples” and “Faust”.
