Kayo Nakai
Born in Japan, the mezzo-soprano completed her Bachelor’s degree at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Kyoto and continued with a Master’s degree in Opera and Music Theatre at the University Mozarteum, which she graduated from with distinction.
For her interpretation of Cherubino in “Le nozze di Figaro”, she was awarded the Lilli Lehmann Medal by the International Mozarteum Foundation.
Since 2010, Kayo Nakai has been a member of the opera chorus at the Salzburg Landestheater.
