Georgian mezzosoprano Khatuna Mikaberidze, has been a member of the Staatsoper Hannover since 2006, where she sang roles such as VENUS Tannhäuser, EBOLI Don Carlo, Carmen (title role), DIANA La Calisto, FRICKA Das Rheingold, Die Walküre, WALTRAUTE Götterdämmerung, BRANGÄNE Tristan und Isolde, JEANNE in Penderecki's The Devil of Loudun, and FRUGOLA Il Tabarro. This season she will be a guest as ORTRUD Lohengrin at the Landestheater Salzburg and SANTUZZA Cavalleria rusticana at the Staatstheater Kassel.

Guest engagements have included EBOLI Don Carlo Norwegian Opera Oslo, AMNERIS Aida Theater Bremen, MADDALENA Rigoletto Staatsoper Hamburg, JEZIBABA Rusalka Theater Basel and MOTHER in Luigi Dallapiccola's Il Prigioniero Volksoper Wien, and Oper Frankfurt.

From 2003 to 2006 Khatuna Mikaberidze was engaged by the Landestheater Linz where roles included Carmen (title role), JEZIBABA Rusalka, and ORLOFSKY Die Fledermaus.

Kathuna made her German debut in 2001 as ACUZENA Il Trovatore Theater Dortmund and began her engagement as a soloist at the Theater Meiningen that season, where she sang DORABELLA Cosi fan tutte, JEZIBABA and BRANGÄNE.

Kathuna is a frequent interpreter of modern music, such as the award-winning production of Luigi Nono´s Intoleranza 1960 (2011 Faust Award for Best New Opera Production) Staatsoper Hannover and concerts of Luciano Berio´s Folk Songs.

Kathuna began her professional career as a soloist with the Batumi Opera and with the Tiflis Opera in Georgia, and studied at the Tiflis Conservatory.
