Marlene Metzger
Opera
The German soprano Marlene Metzger discovered her passion for opera in the children’s choir of the Komische Oper Berlin. She studied voice at the Berlin University of the Arts and completed her Master’s degree in 2023 at the Royal Danish Academy of Music. Already during her studies, she appeared on stage in roles such as Pamina.
She was a finalist at the Bundeswettbewerb Gesang 2020 and Neue Stimmen 2024. From 2023 to 2025, she was a member of the Young Artist Program at the Royal Danish Opera, where she performed roles such as Servilia, First Lady, Najade, and Tebaldo.
In 2025, she sang Ottone in Griselda. Further engagements took her to the Lucerne Festival, the Rheingau Musik Festival, and the Musikfest Bremen, as well as to the Theater Lübeck, where she appeared as Pamina and Gretel. In 2022, she performed the title role in "Atlantis Code". In summer 2025, she was part of the Young Singers Project at the Salzburg Festival; she will return there in 2026 to sing Echo in "Ariadne auf Naxos". In the 2025/26 season, she can be seen performing in Copenhagen and at the Theater Osnabrück.
