The Salzburg-based mezzo-soprano Mona Akinola completed her studies in vocal performance (concert specialization) at the Mozarteum University Salzburg. At the beginning of her training, she was taught by Prof. Gudrun Volkert and later continued her studies with Prof. Michèle Crider and Prof. Pauliina Tukiainen. During her studies, she was awarded a merit scholarship from the Mozarteum University, as well as grants from the Hübel Foundation and the Gianna Szel Foundation.

As a member of the Salzburg Bach Choir, she had the opportunity to work with many renowned conductors, including Marc Minkowski, Ivor Bolton, Gustavo Dudamel, Andrés Orozco-Estrada, and Diego Fasolis. She gained these experiences at the Salzburg Festival and the Mozart Week. In 2016/17, she was also active both as an ensemble member and soloist with the Salzburg-based BachWerkVokal association.

Since the 2017/2018 season, Mona Akinola has been a member of the ensemble at the Salzburg State Theatre, where she has appeared not only as a member of the opera chorus but also as a soloist in numerous operas and musicals. Her solo roles include the Noble Page in “Lohengrin,” the Nymph in “Oberon,” the Noble Orphan in “Der Rosenkavalier,” Sister Margarete in “The Sound of Music,” Martha in “Jolanthe,” and Prince Orlofsky in “Die Fledermaus.”
