Nina Proll

Nina Proll is one of Austria’s best-known actresses. Her career began with engagements in theatre and musical productions before she also gained recognition in film. These early successes led her to renowned venues such as the Theater in der Josefstadt, the Stadttheater Klagenfurt, and the Landestheater Innsbruck.
In 1999, she achieved her first major film success as the lead actress in “Nordrand”, the feature film debut of Barbara Albert. The role earned her several awards, including the Marcello Mastroianni Award for “Best Emerging Actress” at the Venice International Film Festival and recognition as a Shooting Star of European cinema at the Berlin International Film Festival. In 2002, she starred in the first Austrian-Chinese co-production, “Am anderen Ende der Brücke”. In 2008, she appeared as Aline Puvogel in “Buddenbrooks”, Heinrich Breloer’s adaptation of the famous novel, and in 2016 she played Pascal in “Die Mitte der Welt” directed by Jakob M. Erwa.
She became widely known to television audiences through her role as Nicoletta Huber in the cult TV series “Vorstadtweiber” (2014–2021). In 2016, she made her debut as a screenwriter with the film “Anna Fucking Molnar”, in which she also played the title role. In addition, Nina Proll regularly tours throughout Austria with musical programs and has released albums such as “12 Lieder, nicht die schlechtesten“ and “Nina Proll live”.
In the 2026/2027 season, Nina Proll will make her debut on the stage of the Salzburger Landestheater in the production of “Krach in Chioggia”.
