Rafał Tomkiewicz

Opera

The countertenor Rafał Tomkiewicz completed his studies in 2018 at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw. From 2017 to 2019, he was a member of the Opera Academy of the Teatr Wielki – Polish National Opera. In 2018, he was a finalist of the prestigious Cesti Competition in Innsbruck.

His recent engagements include performances at the Oper Graz, the Royal Opera of Versailles, the Oper Frankfurt, the Theater an der Wien, and the Warsaw Chamber Opera. He has also appeared in title roles at the International Handel Festival Karlsruhe and the Handel Festival Halle, and made his debut as Orfeo in "Orfeo ed Euridice".

Rafał Tomkiewicz regularly collaborates with internationally renowned conductors and ensembles. His discography includes recordings of works by George Frideric Handel as well as DVD productions released by Naxos, Arcana, and Oehms Classics.

In the 2025/26 season, he will make his debut at the Salzburg State Theatre as Giulio Cesare in "Giulio Cesare" (Handel).
