Sara Zinna
Ballet
Sara Zinna, born in Italy in 1993, began her dance training in 2009 at the ballet school of La Scala Ballet School in Milan. She continued her studies at the Ukrainian Ballet Academy Milan and graduated in 2015 from the State Ballet School Berlin.
As early as 2014, she gained international stage experience as a guest with the Leipzig Ballet in Uwe Scholz’s Piano Concerto No. 3 in D minor. In 2015, she joined the ensemble of the Musiktheater im Revier in Gelsenkirchen under the direction of Bridget Breiner, where she performed a wide repertoire until 2019. Her roles included Little Charlotte in Charlotte Salomon: Death and the Painter, Sophia in Soot – A Cinderella Story, and the title role in The Little Match Girl by Kevin O’Day. She also performed in choreographies by Jiří Kylián, Marco Goecke, David Dawson, and Cathy Marston.
From 2019 to 2025, Sara Zinna was engaged at the Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe, initially under the direction of Bridget Breiner and, from 2024, under Raimondo Rebeck. There, she performed both classical and contemporary works, including Clara and the Sugar Plum Fairy in "The Nutcracker" by Yuri Vamos, "Giselle", and "A Million Kisses to My Skin" by David Dawson, "Grosse Fuge" by Hans van Manen, as well as productions by Glen Tetley, Jeroen Verbruggen, Mauro Bigonzetti, Stina Quagebeur, Marguerite Donlon, and Jean-Christophe Maillot. Bridget Breiner created the female lead role for her in "The Girl and the Nutcracker".
Since the 2025/2026 season, she has been working as a guest dancer at the Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe and at the Salzburg State Theater, where she appears as a Fairy in "Sleeping Beauty", as well as in "Boléro" and "Studio 54".
