Sarah Henker
Resident Director / Dramaturg
Sarah Henker was born in Berlin. After finishing school, she completed a voluntary social year at the theater junge generation in Dresden. She then spent a year working as an assistant director in the drama department at Stadttheater Landshut. Sarah Henker also studied Applied Theatre Studies at Justus Liebig University Giessen, where she developed, among other projects, scenic works based on texts by Heiner Müller, interactive installations and theatre formats in public spaces.
After joining the Salzburg Landestheater in 2016 as an assistant director, she began directing her own productions. During the 2018/2019 season, she directed “Amoralische Einakter” and the youth club production “Die Welle – Club Mittendrin”. The 2019/2020 season saw the world premiere of “We Should All Be Feminists”, as well as the staged presentation of “Ne Me Quitte Pas – Dott sings Brel”.
Her production of “Die Räuber” opened the 2020/21 season. For his portrayal of Franz von Moor in this production, Gregor Schulz received the Nestroy Award for Best Young Performer.
