Simone Schuster
Assistant to the Director
Simone Schuster studied Musical Theatre and Vocal Pedagogy in Osnabrück and completed her Master’s degree in Contemporary Dramaturgy at Trinity College Dublin with distinction. Her thesis was titled “Reimagining Musical Theatre: Towards a Surrealist Ecodramaturgy.”
She has worked as a performer (including Miranda in “The Tempest”, Marie in “Woyzeck”, Wahida in “Birds”, and Martha in “Spring Awakening”) as well as an assistant director and dramaturg at the Westfälisches Landestheater, Theater Hagen, Volksoper Vienna, Musikalische Komödie Leipzig, and the Dublin Theatre Festival. At the Samuel Beckett Theatre in Dublin, she presented her own projects such as “The Art of Conversation” and “ALL THE WATER ON PLANET EARTH.”
Simone Schuster is a federal prize winner of “Jugend musiziert – Musical” (including a special award for dramaturgy), a multiple finalist in the Federal Singing Competition (chanson category), and a two-time recipient of the Deutschlandstipendium. Alongside her stage work, she has been actively involved in youth engagement for several years, including initiatives such as “Balu und Du” and the “German Student Academy”, and also works as a vocal coach.
She is currently developing a surrealist musical and supports other artists as a dramaturgical outside eye. Since this season, she has been engaged as an assistant director and stage manager at the Salzburg State Theatre.
