Stage and costume design
Sonja Böhm studied Multimedia Art at the Salzburg University of Applied Sciences and Stage Design at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna under Prof. Erich Wonder.
From 2010 to 2013, she worked as an assistant stage and set designer at Theater Dortmund, the Salzburg Festival, and the Burgtheater Vienna. Since 2013, she has been active as a freelance stage and costume designer. She maintains a close professional collaboration with director Felicitas Braun. For Braun’s productions including "Ziege bist du satt?" (Radu Stanca National Theatre, Sibiu), "Der Findling" (Hessian State Theatre Wiesbaden), "A Woman Non-Educable" (Oldenburg State Theatre), and "The Ridiculous Darkness" (Hessian State Theatre Wiesbaden), she was responsible for the overall set and costume design. For "Reigen" (Hessian State Theatre Wiesbaden) and "Moscow-Petushki" (Vestibül at the Burgtheater Vienna), she designed the stage sets.
At the Salzburg State Theatre’s Kammerspiele, she designed the stage sets and costumes for the productions "King A" (2016/2017 season), "Paulas Reisen" (2018/2019 season), "The Little Prince" (2018/2019 season), and "The Diary of Anne Frank" (2021/2022 season). For the interactive play "The Beginning of Almost Everything" (2023/2024 season) at the Haus der Natur, she once again enchanted young audiences with her imaginative costumes and set elements.
