Sung Min Song

Tenor Sung Min Song studied voice at the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich. In 2024, he joined the ensemble of the Nationaltheater Mannheim, where he performs in Cavalleria rusticana, La traviata, and Il trittico. At the Komische Oper Berlin, he made his role debuts as the Prince in "Rusalka" (directed by Barrie Kosky) and as Erik in "Der fliegende Holländer".

In the 2025/26 season, his engagements include Beethoven’s "Missa Solemnis" at Pisa Cathedral under Hartmut Haenchen, "Lucrezia Borgia" in Mannheim, Beethoven’s "Symphony No. 9" with the Munich Symphony Orchestra in Munich and Stuttgart, Dvořák’s "Stabat Mater" in Wrocław under Christoph Eschenbach, Rossini’s "Petite Messe Solennelle" with the Bochum Symphony Orchestra and the German State Philharmonic of Rhineland-Palatinate, "Verdi’s Requiem" at the Rheingau Music Festival, "Mozart’s Requiem" at the Rosengarten Mannheim, and "Verdi’s Requiem" at the Audi Summer Concerts in Ingolstadt.

In the 2024/25 season, he performed Dvořák’s "Stabat Mater" with the MDR Symphony Orchestra under Dennis Russell Davies at the Leipzig Gewandhaus, Mendelssohn’s "Lobgesang" with the Prague Radio Orchestra, Bruckner’s "Te Deum" and Janáček’s "Glagolitic Mass" with the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra, Beethoven’s "Symphony No. 9" under Christoph Eschenbach at the National Forum of Music in Wrocław and the Warsaw Philharmonic, and Bruckner’s "Mass No. 3" with the Göttingen Symphony Orchestra.

He has performed under renowned conductors such as Kent Nagano, Alain Altinoglu, Domingo Hindoyan, Rani Calderon, Lawrence Foster, Sebastian Rouland, Ulf Schirmer, Yaron Traub, Michael Güttler, Yoel Gamzou, and Gabriel Feltz.

Sung Min Song has received numerous awards, including the Second Prize at the Richard Strauss Singing Competition, the Anneliese Rothenberger Prize, the Music Prize of the Gasteig Cultural Circle, the Luitpold Prize of the Kissinger Sommer, the Second Prize at the Hariclea Darclée International Voice Competition, and both the Grand Prix and Prix Spécial ADAMI at the Concours International de Belcanto Vincenzo Bellini in Paris.
