Therese Troyer

Opera

The Austrian mezzo-soprano Therese Troyer studied vocal performance at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (mdw). As a prizewinner of Musica Juventutis, she made her debut at the Vienna Konzerthaus in 2021. Since then, she has been a finalist of the Elīna Garanča Zukunftsstimmen Competition and the Hans Staud Music Prize.

In 2023, she was part of the Jedermann ensemble at the Salzburg Festival. On the operatic stage, her roles have included Hänsel ("Hänsel und Gretel"), Eduige ("Rodelinda" by Handel), the Third Lady ("Die Zauberflöte"), and Bradamante ("Alcina" by Handel).

As an alto soloist, she has appeared in Bach’s "St. John Passion" and "Christmas Oratorio" in Handel’s "Messiah", Mozart’s "Requiem", and Camille Saint-Saëns’ "Oratorio de Noël".

Most recently, she appeared at the Vienna State Opera (NEST) as Tisbe ("La Cenerentola"), at the Theater in der Josefstadt in "Der Alpenkönig und der Menschenfeind", and made her debut at the Vienna Chamber Opera as Giacinta in Cesti’s "L’Orontea".
