Vincenzo Veneruso

Choreographer

Vincenzo Veneruso, born in Naples in 1993, trained at the ballet school of the Teatro San Carlo under the direction of Anna Razzi. In 2014, he took part in the international “Jia Ruskaja” competition at the Bolshoi Ballet Academy in Moscow and subsequently appeared in numerous Teatro San Carlo productions, including “Giselle,” “The Nutcracker,” and “Zorba the Greek.”

In 2016, he joined the Paris-based ensemble of choreographer Philippe Lafeuille, with whom he continues to perform across France and throughout Europe. As a choreographer, he created “Liebesliederwalzer” to music by Johannes Brahms for the ballet company of the Slovenian National Theatre in Ljubljana in 2019. In 2020, he received the City of Cecina’s Cultural Award for the performance “#Ridanzeremo” with dancers from the Teatro San Carlo.

In 2021, he was invited to the Netherlands with “Contact Tango” and created “Anne” for étoile Eleonora Abbagnato to music by Paolo Buonvino – presented before heads of state and government at the G20 Summit in Rome in support of the Andrea Bocelli Foundation. That same year, he graduated with honors in Political Science, as well as in Musicology and Dance, from the University of Paris.

In 2022, he presented “L’Orchestre” at the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès in Cannes for the PNSD “Rosella Hightower.” In the same year, the Corps de ballet of the Teatro Massimo in Palermo staged his choreography “Contact Tango” and a “Nutcracker” created jointly with Jean-Sébastien Colau. He also served as ballet master and stage director for the “Gala des Étoiles” at the Teatro Comunale di Bologna.

In 2023, as part of the “Wellber & Dance” series at the Teatro di Verdura, he created “Silvia” for the Teatro Massimo and was honored by the mayor of his hometown, Portici, for his outstanding achievements in dance.
