Ballet 2025/2026

Our ballet ensemble will, once again start this new season in full swing. They are already looking forward to showing off their skills in a series of new challenges with a stylistic variety ranging from classical ballet to Neoclassicism to Modernism. Adding to the characteristic idiom of our principal choreographer, several internationally successful artists will contribute their works to the repertoire. For the first time, we will be presenting a tripartite ballet night on the grand stage of the Salzburg State Theatre. Valentina Turcu will stage her own perspective on the character of “Carmen”, while Reginaldo Oliveira will explore the music of Spanish pop legend Rosalía and her take on flamenco. Furthermore, Korean choreographer Yonggeol Kim will show his energetic version of Maurice Ravel’s “Boléro”. The classical ballet “The Sleeping Beauty” in its celebrated new interpretation will return to the season programme as a revival, and a world premiere paying homage to the legendary nightclub “Studio 54” is being developed at the rehearsal centre in Aigen.
