GRAND NEW YEAR’S EVE CONCERT

With the Grand Concert held on New Year’s Eve, Salzburg has a lead on Vienna when it comes to celebrating the turning of the year. Traditionally, the Salzburg State Theatre’s Grand New Year’s Eve Concert with the Mozarteum Orchestra is held at the Great Festival Hall, but due to this venue’s upcoming thorough renovation, the Felsenreitschule will serve as the spectacular setting for this buoyant highlight to end 2018.

Together with Artistic Director and host Carl Philip von Maldeghem, Riccardo Minasi, chief conductor of the Mozarteum Orchestra, has compiled a programme that constitutes an encounter of two musical cultures: the first part of the evening is dedicated to symphonic compositions with Latin American references and after the intermission the audience will enjoy the most beautiful melodies of the Strauss dynasty. This musical new year’s celebration promises an exceptional evening of high-class entertainment.
