Grand New Year’s Eve Concert

The Grand New Year’s Eve Concert of the Salzburg State Theatre is an annual highlight in Salzburg’s concert calendar. Celebrating with the Mozarteum Orchestra Salzburg at the Great Festival Hall is the perfect way to welcome the new year in high spirits. Leslie Suganandarajah, the Musical Director of the Salzburg State Theatre, conducts the orchestra with much inspiration and zest.

The evening’s musical programme reads like a tour of Europe. The overture of Offenbach’s “La vie parisienne” takes us to France, the “Lagunen-Walzer” by Johann Strauss II to Italy, his “Nordseebilder” to Germany and Smetana’s symphonic poem “Vlatava” to the Czech Republic, one of Austria’s neighbouring countries.
