Declaração: I loved life too dearly.
Stefan and Lotte Zweig
A Theatrical Quest
Synopsis
If Stefan Zweig were here today to look back on his life and the impact he had on the world, he would be amazed. He is the most-translated German-language writer of the 20th century apart from Kafka. Peace and brotherliness were his main concerns. The private letters recently given to the University of Salzburg by Dr Helga Rabl-Stadler, former president of the Salzburg Festival, paint a very personal picture of this literary artist who championed the idea of a united Europe amidst tumbling national identities in the 1930s and 1940s, long before this concept was even born.
Claus Tröger and Friederike Bernau stage a theatre night that presents both a thrilling artist’s portrait and a view of a dissolving world.
