The Nutcracker
Pjotr Iljitsch Tschaikowsky
Synopsis
This production has all the hallmarks of a classic: With Peter Breuer’s “The Nutcracker”, composed by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, one of the world’s most charming winter fairy tales for the entire family is staged at the Salzburg State Theatre for the fifth time. Clara and her brother receive many gifts on Christmas Eve. Of all the presents, Clara is most fascinated by a wooden nutcracker. The funny little fellow even appears in her dreams, where he turns into a prince. But is it really all just an illusion?
“Peter Breuer’s version is simply delightful and superbly executed.” Tanznetz.de
