“The Gates of Gaza” – Author Talk with Amir Tibon

Amir Tibon’s novel "The Gates of Gaza" tells the story of the Hamas attack on Israel on October 7, 2023, as well as the broader history of the Middle East conflict. The play, adapted and directed by Nuran David Calis, will have its world premiere on October 3, 2025, on Stage 24 at the Salzburg State Theatre.

What makes Tibon’s work particularly compelling is that it is also a first-hand account: the author personally experienced the events of October 7 in Nahal Oz, a kibbutz right on the border with the Gaza Strip.

On the day of the premiere, Amir Tibon will be our guest for an author talk, moderated by director Nuran David Calis and dramaturg Clara Bender. The discussion will explore the making of the novel, its narrative complexity, and the current political situation in the Middle East, offering audiences a unique and insightful perspective.
