A Stage for Diversity: Drag, Queerness & Musical
Panel Discussion

Synopsis
It is said that we are born naked, and everything else is drag. Since the 1980s, drag has established itself as a form of performance, art, and identity, standing in society somewhere between fascination, admiration, and (not least in current times) hostility.
The musical "Priscilla – Queen of the Desert" currently brings the colorful world of drag to the stage while also addressing the challenges and structures of discrimination faced by gay and trans* individuals in public and private life.
As a theatre, a central question arises: How can we responsibly portray queer identities and life realities in all their vibrant diversity on stage? Can drag as performance art serve as a bridge between different life concepts? And how can we clearly separate trans* identities and drag so that it is evident what is performance and what is identity?
Based on "Priscilla – Queen of the Desert", this discussion invites all interested parties, both within and outside the LGBTQ+ community, to an engaging and colorful exchange.
