Ein Blick ins Herz der Gesundheitsmaschine

Synopsis

A study by the Robert Jungk Foundation in Salzburg shows that the development of healthcare will be one of the paramount issues of the coming years. lndeed, there is probably no other topic that is of such great importance to all people than this one. Whether experienced personally or witnessed and endured within the family and circle of acquaintances, sickness is a decisive turning point in the way people live togerher. More and more doctors, nurses and patients are complaining about the increase of cost pressures in healthcare: What is a healthy human life worth? – And how much is it allowed to cost? Does rnedical progress inevitably lead us to a two-class society – one that profits from the new technologies and one that has no access to them? The »Gesundheit!« project wants to playfully illuminate and answer these and other questions. The idea is understand the theater as a public platform for the people of this city.

»Die Krankenzimmer als Kulissen, das enge Beisammenstehen mit den Schauspielern, die sich in ihrer Rolle teils kurz vor ihrem Tod befanden, all das stellt eine Art des Theaters dar (so genanntes Stationentheater), das berührender ist, als einfach nur in einem Saal zu sitzen. Die Schauspieler stellten Augenkontakt her und banden einen in das Stück mit ein. Alles in allem stellt auch dieses Stück ein weiteres Meisterwerk des Salzburger Landestheaters dar, da ist es umso mehr schade, dass es nicht oft gespielt wird.«
