Ladies Night
Stephen Sinclair / Anthony McCarten
Comedy / Adapted by Gunnar Dressler
Synopsis
No job, no money, no prospects, self-esteem withers, and domestic bliss is troubled. The only thing left is the beer at the pub - hard times for six unemployed steelworkers. Then a men's striptease show comes to town for a glamorous guest performance. The women are turned upside down and celebrate the lords of creation. A bold idea corps up in the heads of the unemployed men. Why not go the full Monty and earn money with it? that little bit of arse-shaking can't really be a problem after all! On their own initiative they begin learning the dancing and erotic basics. During the tediously progressing rehearsals, this quirky group of losers increasingly grows together and starts looking forward excitedly to the big performance. Their outward appearance, however, differs somewhat from the steeled bodies of the professional strippers. Do the women really want to see that? Suddenly, pithy remarks like "fat is a women's problem" also no longer help when the day of all days arrives, the rented hall fills, and the six friends are to storm onto the stage for "Ladies Night".
Comedy and the serious side of life come together in an ideal way in "Ladies Night", and this provides for good entertainment. the story also became a cinema hit entitled "The Full Monty". And the rehearsal stage in Rainberg is a tailor-made venue for the steelworkers' dance show.

Reviews
»So lasziv wie möglich bewegen sie ihre Körper, lockern die Krawattenknoten, knöpfen ihre Hemden auf und entblößen ihre nackten Oberkörper. […] Thomas Enzinger setzt in seiner rund zweistündigen Inszenierung auf Schauspieler, die perfekt miteinander harmonieren.«
