Children's play with music, based on the eponymous children's book

Synopsis

The Fröhlich family has lucked out! They have won a real pig in a raffle. But living with Rudy, the pig, poses quite a few challenges for all of them: Where can you keep a pig in a city apartment? How will they keep him a secret from their landlord Mr Buselmeyer? And what qualifications does a pig need to be accepted as a pet pig by the authorities?

Rudy soon grunts his way into the hearts of the family, even though he runs all over the father’s scientific documentation, causes chaos in the rental building and eats the cake. The frisky pig even scares off a burglar. Everything would be just fine if it were not for all those rules and regulations. The family has to move out of their home and finally discovers Rudy’s greatest talent on a football pitch: He is such a fast runner that even the football players of the club can’t keep up. But will he be a match for Klabautermann, the long-term racing pig champion, and for Nieß, the farmer?

Rudy has raced across the silver screen in several sequels and has starred in his own TV series. Now, he takes the theatre stage. Director Christiane Silberhumer lovingly presents his adventures together with stage and costume designer Michael Lindner. Katrin Schweiger sets the play to music. A funny and dynamic theatre experience for the entire family.

The novel "Rennschwein Rudi Rüssel" by Uwe Timm is published by dtv Verlagsgesellschaft.
