11 April 2026 | Kammerfoyer, Salzburg State Theatre

Synopsis

How do you become an actor? How often does the ballet train? How many costumes are stored in the wardrobe department? How is a stage set created? Who decides what gets performed?
If questions like these are on your mind, join THEATRE INSIDE and discover the full spectrum of the theatre world!

Every month we offer theatre enthusiasts exciting insights into the many different departments of the Salzburg State Theatre. Get to know not only a wide range of professions and activities but also the experts behind them.

Our interactive workshops take place on selected Mondays from 5:30–7:30 pm at various venues of the Salzburg State Theatre. Around two weeks before each workshop, we’ll announce the theme, an age recommendation, and the exact location. You can join at any time, but places are limited – so please register in advance (from 10 days before) via email: jungesland@salzburger-landestheater.at

The participation fee is €3 for children and young people, €5 for adults.

We look forward to your curiosity and your questions!

Workshop on Monday, 13 April 2026:

Discover the world of stage make-up!
Stage make-up is more than cosmetics and hair. It combines craftsmanship, aesthetic sensitivity and creative vision. Our make-up artists create characters, design special effects and set visual accents. They work closely with the director, costume department and performers and are essential to every production.

Make-up artists Marion Leitner and Julia Hanghofer give exciting insights into their work at the theatre and show how faces are transformed into characters. They talk about their daily work, their creative processes, and you will have the chance to try things yourself – hands-on participation is encouraged!

Where: Salzburger Landestheater (Schwarzstraße 22), Kammerfoyer
