Curtain Up! : THE SALZBURG STATE THEATRE OPENS ITS DOORS AND INVITES YOU TO THE THEATER FESTIVAL!

On September 27, 2025, the Salzburg State Theater invites you to a theater festival offering exclusive behind-the-scenes insights, chances for conversation, and a welcoming introduction to the new season.

Join our guided tours and explore the entire theater – from the makeup department to the understage, the fly system, and the costume workshop – discover all this on your journey through the Salzburg State Theater.

On the theater’s main stage, the Ballet, Drama, and Musical Theater departments will offer previews of upcoming productions for the new season:
The ballet company of the Salzburg State Theater will present a rehearsal for the production Carmen / Rosa / Boléro. Following that, the new Director of Drama, Nuran David Calis, will introduce the upcoming drama productions and the Salzburg Festival and Theater Children’s Choir will showcase highlights from its repertoire.

After the Theater Festival, the grand anniversary gala of the Salzburg State Theater will take place.

1:30 pm: Opening and start of guided tours
(every 10 minutes, free admission tickets available directly at the information desk of the Theatre Festival)

Main Stage

2:00 pm Ballet rehearsal “Carmen / Rosa”

3:00 pm Drama presentation

4:00 pm Salzburg Festival and Theatre Children’s Choir

2:00–5:00 pm: Theatre education workshops “Junges Land” for children aged 8–13
(free admission tickets available directly at the information desk of the Theatre Festival)
