Zeitlieder

Thursday morning: singer-songwriter, chansonnier, storyteller and poetic enchanter Georg Clementi takes the time to read the German newspaper “DIE ZEIT”. He uses the various reports and articles as inspiration for new songs – his “Zeitlieder” – with which Clementi has been very successful, even winning chanson awards. His songs are “so beautiful that time stands still”, as Peter Gnaiger of the “Salzburger Nachrichten” aptly put it. Clementi now presents his third “Zeitlieder” programme. His haunting songs are emotionally and intellectually stirring. The charismatic singer is accompanied by two virtuoso musicians: Sigrid Gerlach on accordion and Ossy Pardeller on guitar. Clementi paints a poetic picture of current events, inspired by newspaper articles and headlines. And since his topics are as varied as a feuilleton, the actor is able to use the entire range of his exuberant interpretation skills.

Georg Clementi began his artistic career as a singer-songwriter. He went on to act on stages in Innsbruck, Bolzano and Turin. From 1995 he was a member of the ensemble of the Komödienspiele Porcia. He also directs regularly. Clementi appears steadily at the Salzburg State Theatre. Since 2016 he has been the director of the Salzburg Street Theatre.
